Physical description
Rectangular, engine-turned gold case with lapis lazuli push. Brown imitation leather hard case with Greek key pattern stamped in gold.

  • Inside lid and on base: London hallmarks for 9 carat gold for 1960-1
  • Inside base: sponsors' mark of Ramsden & Roed
  • Engraved under rim of lid of cigarette case: 'DUNHILL LONDON'
  • Engraved inside lid of cigarette case: 'T.R.P.HOLE, CARLTON CLUB, ST. JAMES'S STREET, LONDON, S.W.1' and with presentation inscription in facsimile handwriting 'From Montie'
  • On silk inside hard brown case printed: 'By Appointment [Royal Arms] Tobacconists / To the Late King George VI / ALFRED DUNHILL LTD' above 'dunhill'
