Physical description

Mirror, English 18th century.
Carved and partly gilded; mahogany.
The mirror has a bevelled edge.
The mahogany frame is veneered on pine.
The inner moulding of gilt gesso is surrounded by a narrow band edged with a bolection moulding.
Outside this, on the top and bottom of the frame, are flat projections being incised witha gilded design of a budding branch; while within a pierced circle in the upper part is a gilt bird on an oak-branch in relief.
