Mahogany chair with upholstered leather seat, 95/2089
Physical description
Mahogany chair with upholstered seat. The splat has a central support which fans outwards, pierced and carved as an arrangement of quatrefoils with leaf decoration. The top rail is carved with a central leaf decoration and ends in carved scrolls. The square front legs are fluted on the front and side as are the outside of the back legs which curve outwards. There are four plain stretchers. The seat is covered with red leather fixed with brass studs of floral design. There is a carved bracket between the seat and each front leg. The chair is of a late eighteenth century style but thought to be made in the nineteenth century.
