Place of origin

Drilling brace of elm, mounted with iron and brass rings. The body of the brace is in the usual flattened 'U' form, with a shaped grip. The name 'G.E.Wright' is punched in three places in the flat parts of the brace and 'T.Hartwell' in two places. The knob at the top is attached by a metal pin, having two brass collars. The lower part, where the bit is inserted, is secured with two iron bands. The brace does not contain a bit.
