Description of Craftsman from Hollis, R. 1970. Modern Chairs:1918-1970. The Whitechapel Art Gallery, London:
Gerd Lange Industrial designer. Born 1931. Trained Wurttenberg School of Arts and Crafts, Offenbach-am-Main. Own office from 1964, Kapsweyer. Range of objects designed has included furniture, light fittings etc. Work exhibited annually from 1964 Die Gute Industrieform exhibition , Hanover; Student Rooms Exhibition, Hanover 1964; Gute Form Design Centre, London 1965; Viftig Jaar Zitten, Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam 1966; Contemporary Furniture Munich 1968; one-man exhibition of design work 1967-69 at Rat fur Formgebung, Darmstadt 1970. Two first prizes for chairs Gute Form 1969.
