Brief description | Carved mahogany chair; one of a pair. RF: 78/1949 |
Physical description | Pair of chairs of carved mahogany. Their top rails are serpentine in outline, carved with acanthus along the upper edge and terminating in a shell at each corner. Their splats are carved with scrolls of acanthus on the outer edges. Their seats are upholstered with modern damask; one in mauve and the other in cream. Their front legs are carved on the knees with escutcheons and with acanthus, and terminate in lion paw feet. Their rear legs are plain. |
