This sofa table was on loan to National Trust Castle Ward until March 2018.

Physical description

Kingwood veneer with burr-walnut inlay on a mahogany carcase. Oblong form, the leaves at either end with rounded corners. Transverse length figure within plain burr border. At either end a rectangular support forking into brass-tied legs on brass casters. On one side two drawers each with two turned brass handles; on the other side, a corresponding frieze of dummy drawers.
