Object history | V&A Archival Record states: Panel of carved wood, from a mosque at Samarkand. Divided by sunk bands into a variety of shaped compartments surrounding a six-pointed star in the middle, all carved with arabesque ornament wihtin borders of rings; the edges of the panel are grooved. Turkestan; late 13th or early 14th century. Purchased from Monsieur Hindamian, Paris for £30 in 1906. |
