Slate Box and Pencils
about 1956 (made)

1. slate, rectangular sheet of slate bound on all sides with wood; the corners have been rounded. The slate has been used and there are faint markings on both sides, but otherwise it is in very good condition.
2. box containing the slate pencils, card printed in colours to show the title and trademarks, illustrations of children and one of a boy using the slate on a desk. On one side is a cut away panel which shows the pencils. In addition to the title are the words `Sie alle schreibenmit dem' and `inhalt 5 stück'. It opens at both ends but one end is sealed with cellotape.
3-7. slate pencils, each is covered with a combination of gold metallic paper and multicoloured metallic paper; the bottom ends are gold. They have not been used.
*The pencils were made in Germany, however, the slate itself is not marked and could have been made in either Germany or Great Britain

on the box holding the pencils - drawing of a hand holding a set of pencils in a circle; a T shape with cross bars making it appear to be a K or T K, in a circle; V/15/26-MgG 361/56 *this 56 probably represents the date with the box was produced.
