ice cream cycle

The cycle is lithographed tinplate and the mechanism is housed in the body with the key protruding from the left side. It is white and blue with red, black, pink, and yellow markings. The underside is white.
When wound up the cycle moves on two wheels set under the centre area and connected to the mechanism; there is a third wheel at the back on which sits the figure of a boy. The figure's body is lithograhed tinplate with a soft vinyl head and white plastic feet. The body is the same as the cycle while the head is painted to show black hair and eyes and a red and white cap. The face show the typical use of Western features. The hands are attached to a bar and the feet to the axleof the rear wheel. When moving the feet go up and down and the body goes forward and backwards.

References: This collection of toys was acquired by the donor while attending Peking University in 1978 and 1979. The majority of the toys were made in China for its own market.
