The lithographed tinplate plane has a mechanism housed under the body and a lever on the right wing. The yellow underside and grey tail are plastic. The mechanism appears to be friction drive but in this case does not function. This toy was made in Japan but bought in China.

Physical description
The plane is lithographed tinplate and the mechanism is housed under the body with a lever on the right wing. It is silver with black, red, blue, yellow and white markings. The underside is yellow plastic and the tail is grey plastic. The mechanism appears to be a friction drive but it is not working. The lever is an on/off switch connected to the mechanism but none of the positions indicated seem to make any difference.
