Physical description

Pine and oak workbox, covered with marquetry of pearwood, lignum vitae, satinwood, walnut, olivewood and rosewood. On the top of the lid is an oval panel enclosing a symmetrical arrangement of leafy scrollwork; the spaces inside are similarly treated. The front and sides are decorated in the middle with ovals containing leafy scrollwork. One end of the interior has been divided, probably at a later date, into a variety of compartments.
