The reindeer is lithographed tinplate and the mechanism is housed in the body with the key bat protruding underneath. It is tan and brown with black, pink, blue, yellow and white markings. The antlers are brown plastic. When wound up the reindeer hops along on its legs which are connected to the mechanism.
