Crucifix

1475-1499 (made)
Place of origin

Foot and knop of a large crucifix in walnut. The hexagonal knop consists of two tiers of Gothis arcading filled in with a tracery (the lower tier has, however, only three arches left). Under the knop are two bands of open floral scrollwork. The foot, which is hexagonal at the top, is ploygonal below and its surface is divided by raised mouldings radiating from the top, inot compartments filled with Gothis tracery. It has a peg and a hole for a second one to support figures. There are remains of gilding and gesso.
