Dress of blue brocaded silk with a cannelé woven ground on which is brocaded a formal floral motif in alternating bands, consisting of a spray of three shaded pink chrysanthemum-type flowers with a white leaf stem linked to form a scalloped linking garland from which depends a tassel. Around the stem is a scalloped pattern filled with diagonal cannelé stripes. There is a gold thread wing pattern at the junction of the stems.

The dress is a 'sarafan', full length with a straight cut high waisted front, and fastening down the centre with looped cord and cast filigree gilt buttons. The back panel extends into bands over the shoulders and the skirt is pleated from the waist. There is a gilt braid around the back panel, shoulder strips and for a short distance down the centre front. Lined throughout with glazed blue linen.
