Cross from a linen cloth; slit-tapestry-woven in coloured wools and undyed linen thread. Egyptian, ca. AD300-700. The cross is purple with arms of equal length widening towards the ends; upon it are nine ornaments in colours to represent jewels.

Physical description
Woven cross icon on a linen cloth. Slit-tapestry-woven in coloured wools and undyed linen background. The cross is purple with arms of equal length widening towards the ends. Each end has a green triangle and a white circle beneath it; at the centre is a red circle within a white circle. Approx. 10x16 tpc (sys 1 x sys 2). Salt crystals are evident.
