Tapestry woven wool on linen. Egyptian, Oxyrhynchus, ca. AD400-600. The linen is undyed. It has been folded down one side. A leaf-shaped medallion (50mm x 58mm) has been woven in wool on the piece. The leaf is green with a yellow circle inside. Inside the circle is a tulip-like flower in pink, red and white with a pink stem that goes across and outside the circle. At the end of the linen fold there is a small circle of red wool. Linen is 24x12tpc; S-spun. The fragment is stained and has some holes.
