Physical description

Skirt of coarse cotton with a deep embroidered border at the hem, worked in gobelins and stem stitches in red, blue, black, green and pink silks. The embroidery covers the ground material completely. The pattern consists of a border of stylised vase/tree shapes between two narrower borders, surmounted by a row of leaf shapes characteristic of Attica dress borders.
