Fan of printed and painted vellum with mother of pearl sticks carved 'a jour' and enriched with gilt.
The leaf shows an assembly of female 'immortals' in classic dress flanked by Cupids with, to the right and left, human attendances in 19th century dress. The lead has a rich gold leaf pattern flanking each guard. On the reverse is a painted Italian type landscape with stencilled, gilt flowers.
The pin, combined with the holding loop, is set with pastes.
