RA-RA OUTFIT TOP AND SKIRT English, Warehouse, 1982 Printed cotton During the summer of 1982 most high street fashion chain stores displayed short flounced skirts known as ra-ras. The name for this youthful style derived from the dress of American football cheer leaders. In Warehouse's interpretation of a popular style, the bold colourful print adds to the ensemble's 'cheeky' impact. This outfit clearly shows how a garment is determined by fabric as well as cut.
