Artist/Maker | |
Place of origin |
Skirt made of smooth faced, firm, black wool.
The skirt is mid-calf length and flares from the waist, cut in 9 vertical panels and in three horizontal bands, each cut more on the cross and the most widely flaring at the hem. The junction of these panels is masked with a tuck. On the underside of the lowest flounce is stitched a pink satin fathered flounce, lined with matching chiffon. The skirt has been backed on to white linen before being made up. The lowest flounce is faced with black grosgrain. The skirt fastens at the centre back with hooks and eyes. There are tow tapes to support it on a hanger.
