Hand-knitted natural and man-made fibre novelty yarns
British: Linda Grady, 1985
The availability of exciting new yarns has been an important factor in the resurgence of hand-knitting. Those used for this sweater - simply hand-knitted in strips of garter stitch - demonstrate the latest developments in machinery and yarn technology. The sweater is ribbed at the waist and has padded shoulders.
Linda Grady, formerly yarn designer for Emu and Emu International Ltd, now lectures in textiles at Bretton Hall College.
The sweater was knitted by Sue Brown.
