Object history note

Registered File number 1984/1778. This originally formed part of the Carlo Palazzi's collection of designs with suit T.110&A-1985. In the late 1960s his fashions had a considerable influence on menswear. Included with his gift is a booklet on his menswear designed from 1966-1981.

In the 1960s, Italian tailoring was evolving from made-to-measure garments to ready-made clothes. Carlo Palazzi was particularly skilled in this area. In addition to his own label, he designed menswear for large manufacturers such as Ellesse
and Lanerossi.
