1. box lid; square; cream card covered with white paper printed in blue to show an illustration of one of the slides and the title OUR COLONIES; 3¼ x 3¼; JUNIOR LECTURERS SERIES; SOUTH AFRICA ETC. On one side is a list of the slide titles.
2. box base; square; cream card covered with white paper.
3-9. photographic glass slides; coloured; bound around the edges with black paper; numbered 33;34;35;36;38;39;40 (no. 37 is missing; this is the one illustrated on the box lid). Each slide comprises two layers of glass; one with the photographic image and the other a cover glass.

The makers were known for PRIMUS ENGINEERING; a constructional toy consisting of a number of interchangeable parts of wood and metal.
