A woman's gown of white muslin with an all over pattern of alternating rows of applied silver spots made from silvered paper stuck on with glue. The gown is open at the front with a high waist and shaped elbow-length sleeves with diagonal tucks. The bodice and skirt are cut separately and stitched at the waist. A collar, pleated at the centre back neck extends to the front, with a hem casing and drawstring at the lower edge, on each side. These are sewn to a narrrow, tucked bodice fronts with are seamed to the back on a diagonal seam off the shoulder. The back is made of two diamond shapes with tucks, which meet at the centre back where they form a chevron. The bodice and sleeves are lined with bleached linen, the bodice front linings separate from the bodice fronts. The skirt is made of two widths of muslin,
sewn into the waist seam with a box pleat at centre back and flat pleats at the sides. A length of white satin ribbon binds the front edges of the skirt.
