Place of origin

Navy wool gabardine afternoon jacket and dress.

The Jacket is straight, hip length with curved bottom edges and high curved band collar. High-necked mandarin collar. It hangs unfastened. The sleeves are long with turn back cuffs. At the hips are two concave pockets with curved flaps. Above them is a curved panel of trimming consisting of alternating bands of piping mounted on satin, and similar bands trim the collar and cuffs. Lined with black satin piped in blue. Collar and cuffs of green-black silk satin and satin covered buttons.

Dress cut to suggest a bib apron worn over a black satin blouse with long sleeves cut in one with the bodice. Square neckline. Bands of green-black silk satin trim the cuffs, a panel above the flapped pockets at the hips and dependent ends of the black ribbon sash belt. The bodice fastens with black metal hooks and eyes and snap fasteners on the left side of the front. Lined with white silk and a label is stitched to the grosgrain waist band. Dress preservers inside the arm holes. Mid-calf, peg-top skirt. Densely applied rows of gabardine rouleaux.
