Physical description

Coverlet of yellow silk satin, with an "applique" pattern in yellow silk brocade outlined and embroidered with silk cord and silver-gilt thread. In the middle is a large lozenge-shaped compartment outlined by a narrow stem of flowers and leaves and enclosing a rayed device. At each corner of the compartment is a conventional flower from which spring two scrolling and interlacing stems bearing leaves, flowers and berries, arranged symmetrically. The remaining space is filled with smaller floral devices also springing from the central compartment. There is a border all round consisting of a straight floral stem, and at the edge is a narrow fringe of silver-gilt thread. Green silk lining.
