Corset cover (for summer; Quality 1601) made of aertex. Sleeveless with a centre front opening with six covered buttons. The button at the neck opening is hidden when worn as there is a loop fastening. The yoke is made from machine-made lace and there is a 1 inch deep scalloped edging of the same around the neck and the armholes. The bodice tapers towards the waist which has a silk draw string in the hem which is covered with a machine-made lace strip and tied at the centre front. There are two darts or slits under the bust, originating from the hem, one on either side of the centre point opening. The seams are welted and the centre front opening is faced with cotton. The darts are backed with white tape. A rectangular label is stitched onto the centre back at the neck and is machine-stitched in red and black.
