Triangular nightcap of white linen and cotton twill, embroidered with thick white linen thread in overcast, double knot, long and short and satin stitches with French knots, eyelet holes and pulled fabric fillings. The nightcap is cut in two pieces and seamed up the sides. Both sides are decorated with the same symmetrical design of scrolling stems enclosing carnations and of large daisy-like flowers, growing from a central stylised 'stem' composed of Baroque leaf shapes.
