Fragment of tapestry woven linen and wool. Egyptian, ca. AD400-700. Probably from a tunic. There are two panels that contain imagery of a huntsman/gladiator and animals. In the top panel the man fights a lion. He appears to be wearing a cloak (red) and a helmet? (green) and a smaller animal is at the feet of the lion (perhaps a dog). In the lower panel the man appears to be either on horseback or fighting an animal. He is also cloaked (green) with a helmet? (red). The background of each panel is filled with scrolled desgins across the top of the panel. The top of the piece is a border edge. 13x26 tpc.
