Bobbin lace collar. Bertha collar designed to fit round a low and wide neckline. Delicate open pattern of two rows of simple floral sprigs above a scalloped lower edge. The sprigs are linked by clothwork lines. Elongated and square wheat-ears are used as fillings within compartments decorating the upper and lower edges. The main parts of the pattern are in cloth stitch with openwork and chain decoration. The lace is grounded with a large square mesh of twisted and plaited threads made of cotton thread.
