Linen damask napkin, woven wiith the inscriptions 'C'EST LES ARMES D'ECOSSE', and 'Nemo me Impune Lacessit', the Latin motto of the Order of the Thistle. It features a mirror image design of a thistle with crown in the centre, sunburst with thistle, fleur de lys, lion rampant and the St Andrews cross.
'MAY LAWRIE, 1762' is woven into the bottom of the design, and the initials ML have been stitched into the top centre section.
