A homemade bandeau Lightweght, unstructured bandeaux similar to camisoles were worn in the 1920s. Their almost tubular shape, which was designed to flatten the bust, reflects the youthful, androgynous silhouette fashionable at the time. This example was made for a young woman by her mother. She later donated it to the V&A. The bandeau would have been attached with the elastic tabs on its hem to a long, slimline corset.
