Parasol with a heavily repaired green silk cover, with a yellow fringe trim. The pole is bamboo with a long, carved steel nose cap. It has a distinctive, claw shaped ivory ferrule.

Description from the acquisition register

Parasol with long stick of cane, having a small crook of ivory at one end and metal mount, and a long iron (?) ferrule at the other. The hinged frame is of metal and the ribs of whale-bone. The covering of blue silk is in fragments. It has a looped fringe of brown silk.
