Mirror with a raised work frame. Bevelled glass panel in the centre surrounded by panels of embroidery. The panels are embroidered in coloured silks in long and short, knotted and needlepoint filling stitches, with detached and raised details all on a cream satin ground. Chenille, purl, mica, coiled paper, pearls and ribbon work are also used.

The panels are separated by strips of tortoiseshell. The shaped frame is also of tortoiseshell.

Top centre panel consists of a central medallion with the bust of a cloaked gentleman with a staff. House and tree in background.

The top left and right has a lion and leopard, respectively. Both are lying under a fruit tree.

The left centre shows a king standing beneath a canopy with orb and sceptre.

The right centre shows a queen beneath a canopy with a fan.

The bottom centre is a circular medallion with a mermaid and a fountain in water, and framed by trees.

The bottom left and right has formal floral patterns. Below each is a similar panel containing a bird on a branch.
