With a pleated satin waistband, two dramatic purple silk tassels at the side of the hip, a bodice draped with chiffon, elbow length sleeves and an inner bodice bust and back trimmed with appliqué metallic purple and silver embroidery.

Object history
Worn by Miss Heather Firbank. A small hand-written tag found in this dress with "Miss Firbank" pencilled on reappears in other labelled Lucile garments from the same collection, but not in garments labelled by other designers.
Production
Although it has no label, this dress can be securely identified as by Lucile because of a matching design in the Archive of Art and Design, AAD 2008/6/22.
