Fair linen cloth for use on an altar and embroidered with white cotton. The centre is decorated with four crosses and a border on each end shows a scrolling grape and vine worked in satin and stem stitches. There is a drawn thread decorative edge on all four sides of the cloth.

Purchased. Registered File number 1984/2344.
Production
The cloth came from St Luke's Church, Warrington which was built by the form of Bodley and Garner between 1892-1893, and it is possible therefore that the embroidery was designed by G.F. Bodley.
