Brown silk sun bonnet trimmed with a ruched frill with a pinked edge and a bow at the centre back. The silk is pieced and has marks of previous stitching.

It has a ruched cap with a bavolet and a deep straight brim stiffened with narrow strips of card. There is a narrow brown silk ribbon threaded through a channel at the back of the cap to adjust the fit and two ribbons to tie under the chin.
