Machine-made embroidery in polychrome cotton and copper gilt thread on black cotton material. On the curved lid is a shepherdess and her sheep beneath a tree within an oblong compartment of floriated outline. The front and back panels have a basket of flowers and fruit, birds, and floral scrolls symmetrically arranged. The panels on the ends have bunches of carnations, tulips, and other flowers tied with gold ribbon. The edges are bound with gilt braid attached by gilt-headed nails.The interior of the box is of brown polished wood.
