Place of origin

Sampler of carpet weaving mounted on a wooden frame with white cotton warp under tension between the upper and lower beams. The techniques demonstrated are: countered soumak, looped pile, tapestry weave, asymmetrical knot, and symmetrical knot. Slips of paper have been inserted towards the top of the warp - possibly for tension.
