Physical description

Underskirt of white cotton. Waist to ankle length and made with a slightly gored front panel, two side panels and two back panels and with pleated side to the centre back into the white cotton twill waistband. It has a centre back plaquet which fastens with a cotton covered metal button. Above the hem is stitched a band of horizontal machine-tucked and corded material to which is stitched a plain under hem and a machine pleated and stitched flounce. There is a very deep overlap of material at the waistband. It is machine stitched.
