Petticoat of white cotton and trimmed with a lace frill with a vandyke edge at the neck and a hand-embroidered whitework insertion above the hem. Short bodice (4 inches), high waistline and is low cut and sleeveless. The bodice is slightly gathered under the bust and the fullness at the neck is adjusted with a cord tying at the centre front. The skirt (37 inches long) is straight, cut in two pieces and gathered at the centre back. The garment fastens at the back with a cord at the neckline and a tape at the waist.
