Artist/Maker
Place of origin

Pair of woman's cuff sleeves of fine white cotton lawn and with a hand-embroidered pattern at the wrist of scattered seed heads and open-work blossoms. At the seams are welt edges with frills of machine-made lace trimmed with domed cotton-covered buttons which may once have fastened the sleeves to the arms but which are now stitched closed. The lace frill extends around the wrist. In shape, the sleeves taper from mid-upper to wrist, curving to follow the shape. They are hand-finished.
