Man's jacket, known as chupen, of black felt embroided with silks and trimmed with metal braid and sequins. The front and the cuffs are worked with wavy stems in silver on black velvet, and with broad borders of close repeating designs of interlacing stems and stripes in colours and silver; on the back is a symmetrical device of a flowering plant.

Object history
This jacket was a wedding garment worn by a fisherman who, according to the man who sold it to the Museum, was later drowned at sea.
