Pair of curtains and valance of cotton and plate-printed with romantic scenes in the 'Henri IV' style. Quilted onto coarse linen and with scalloped edges. The quilting is arranged in a simple diagonal pattern.

There are five scenes in staggered repeats: A lady on a swing; a group reposing in a leafy glade; blind man's buff; two men, two ladies and a dog; and a couple dancing to a flute player in a glade by a lake.
