Maniple made of patterned tissue silk on a stiffened canvas backing, and edged with patterned yellow braid. Stitched cross made from the braid on the top fold where there is a small looped tab made from the braid and a length of attached elastic. Hand-stitched.

The silk is a tissue with a green ground and staggered motifs of large flowers, leaves and berries. The colours are subdued, and employ eleven shades (pink, blue, yellow and black). The repeat incorporates one pink floral group and one blue. The pattern is bound in 3/1 twill. The ground is dark green with an additional cannellé warp flush with short stemmed flowers in a staggered reserve.
