Historical context | Benjamin Ferrey was a pupil of Pugin senior, (and later the biographer of A.N.W.Pugin.) He made this sketch on a visit to Paris with Pugin senior, who was an assistant to John Nash and had designed the Regent's Park Diorama in 1823. A view similar to this watercolour but not including the panorama buildings was published in Augustus Pugin's Paris and its Environs 1828-1831. |
