A set of three orphreys from a chasuble, mounted on dark red velvet.
The orphreys show figures beneath architectural canopies. The gold backgrounds are worked with a diaper pattern and are mounted on violet velvet. In the centre, Christ is crucified with two mourning angels and God the Father is above. On the left are the Virgin Mary and St. John the Evangelist. On the right are St. James the Great with a staff and St. Mary Magdalene with a jar.
The orphreys are of linen embroidered with silver gilt thread and coloured silks in split and brick stitches and couched work. The figures are worked separately and applied.
