Man’s coat of blue woollen broadcloth. It has a 4¼-inch (10.8 cm) turn-down collar with a point at the back, and curving, 2-piece sleeves ending in 4-inch (10 cm) deep cuffs. The fronts curve toward the back; each has a pocket with shaped flap, and 5-inch (12.5 cm) deep pleats at the side back. The fronts are lined with pale blue silk twill, the sleeves and back with linen. The edges of the fronts, collar, cuffs, pleats, centre-back opening and pocket flaps are trimmed with ⅜-inch (8 mm) wide braid of silver filé and strip over white silk floss and silver strip over yellow silk. There are 10 large matching passementerie buttons on the right side with 10 corresponding worked buttonholes on the left. There is a button at the top and bottom of each set of pleats. There is a hook and eye at centre front.
