Man’s waistcoat, the fronts of fine bleached cotton with horizontal satin and plain-weave stripes, the back of bleached linen. It has a round neck, wide revers, straight fronts each with a welted pocket, reaching to the hip. The waistcoat is lined with linen. A ⅜-inch (6 mm) wide ribbon of cotton printed and tamboured with silver filé edges the fronts, revers, pocket welts and hems. The waistcoat has a double-breasted effect with 12 (all missing) buttons on the right side, with 10 corresponding worked buttonholes and another 10 buttons (all missing) on the left. There are 9 tassels tamboured in silver filé on each side and 1 on each revers
